A-quipment Repairs & The Hood Cleaners LLC is a licensed and insured restaurant hood cleaning subcontractor. The company has been in business for 30 years, most of these years under the business name of The Hood Cleaner. We are in business for the long term, and the firm strives to maintain business relationships with our hood cleaning customers that last for many years.


In October, 2006, one of The Hood Cleaners' former employees, Rolaine Stoddard purchased the company and restructured it into a Limited Liability Company. Her husband, Bill Stoddard worked on the cleaning crew for the former owner, Ed Stull, for several years, and Bill now heads/manages the cleaning crews. At the same time, the restructured firm added additional services beyond just hood cleaning so that our customers could have a one stop shop for all of their fire prevention and cooking equipment servicing needs. Hence, we changed our firm's name in October, 2006 to reflect the newly added services. We place a high priority on taking care of our hood cleaning customers, and they receive special discounted rates for all of our other services.


Our cleaning crew includes an electrician, a journeyman carpenter, a journeyman drywaller, licensed HVAC / refrigeration technicians, and a highly trained cooking equipment repairman.

All of us at A-quipment Repairs & The Hood Cleaners, LLC love to spend time in the great outdoors. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has recently designated the restaurant hood cleaning process as a stormwater pollution sourcepoint. This means that unless you and/or your hood cleaning subcontractor take precautions to clean responsibly, then the restaurant is greatly contributing to water pollution, and the dirty water generated is killing our region's fish, hurting our wildlife, and raising the bacteria counts at the beaches. It is not difficult and not that expensive to clean responsibly. We clean the hoods in environmental compliance - you can too! We feel it is extremely important that our firm takes steps to preserve NY's wonderful outdoor environment so everyone can continue to enjoy it by teaching other hood cleaning contractors and commercial kitchen operators how to do the same. So most of our company website is devoted to teaching you about fire prevention in restaurant and environmentally responsible hood cleaning techniques.
